The Vélodrome National de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines witnessed a flurry of world record-breaking performances on the opening day of Para cycling competition. As we head into day two, the excitement continues with eight medal events scheduled.

Spain’s Alfonso Cabello Llamas, who clinched gold in Tokyo, is set to renew his fierce rivalry with Great Britain’s Jody Cundy. Cundy, who took silver in the previous Games, will be looking to make his mark in the men’s C4-5 1000m time trial.

In the women’s C4 3000m individual pursuit, Australia’s Emily Petricola, aged 44, aims to defend her gold medal from Tokyo. Petricola, the world record holder for this event, will face strong competition from USA’s Shawn Morelli, Canada’s Keely Shaw, and Australian teammate Meg Lemon, all vying for top podium positions.

The intense competition at the Vélodrome National promises more thrilling races and spectacular performances as Para cyclists aim to add to the excitement of the Games.
